The odds of finding success as a startup company are low, a difficulty that holds true across a number of industries according to recent data from Entrepreneur Weekly that was published on Statistic Brain. Roughly a quarter of all startups shutter by the end of their first year, for example, and 44% of all startups don’t survive beyond a third year.
Lean Startup Machine is a 3-day workshop that was created to help startups learn how to build successful businesses by creating products consumers want and need. The event will be coming to Washington, DC, and we at 3Pillar are thrilled to have Jessica Hall, Director of our Innovate Practice, serving on the event’s Mentors Panel.
Lean Startup Machine will kick off on Friday, May 30th at 6:00 PM and run to Sunday, June 1st at 7:00 PM. In that short time span, attendees can expect to go through 6 workshops, 4 speaker presentations, and a “Get Out of the Building” exercise where they venture out in to the wild to test assumptions and hypotheses about the products they are planninng to build. Eric Ries, bestselling author of The Lean Startup, is an advisor to Lean Startup Machine and helps guide the curriculum and processes taught at the workshops.
